When Sienna’s son dies in a freak accident ten months after an eerily similar accident claimed her
daughter, her whole world is shattered. Unable to deal with the pain, she begins to spiral in a desperate
attempt to make sense of the situations and the visions and thoughts that are now plaguing her. As
secrets from the past begin to come to light, Sienna’s husband, along with seemingly the whole world,
are becoming convinced that she is either a murderer or insane. And Sienna herself is not completely
sure she’s not losing her mind.
Written in a smooth, captivating way, the emotions of the characters are clearly drawn and completely
relatable without being too overwhelming (tough to do with this topic). The settings are described
beautifully and often very poetically, lending at times an almost surreal feel to the story. There seemed
to be paranormal elements under the surface, and while I won’t provide spoilers about that, the plot
twists and the mystical elements keep the reader wondering and engaged until the final page.
Overall, it was a fascinating book with likable characters, beautiful imagery, riveting action, and
enthralling emotion that will draw you in, put you through the wringer, and leave you feeling very
satisfied. A great read!
